Kindest Regards and our gratitude to you all

I think that all care of this type is very expensive in our case the expense was well worth our positive outcome.

Because of these amazing people we were able to have our entire family at Thanksgiving which was amazing

These people saved my child's life

I hope we never need you help again but if we do we know where to turn for help

These places are hard to review since I was the one there my validity is automatically questioned by whom ever reads this. The location is serene and comfortable. However I think I may have arrived a little too soon. The place was recently opened and I as well as many others felt like the staff was figuring things out as they went. Many times rules would change day to day and a few staff members seemed to hold grudges and retaliate when people would bring up inconsistencies. Most other staff walked the perfect balance of professional and friendly...after all we are all adults. I'm sure many of these things will be worked out over time, even though judging by the rural nature of the facility the employment pool maybe shallow. Also I and everyone else was told there is a pool and healthy gourmet meals, the pool looks like it hasn't worked since the 1980s and the food was essentially hamberhelper. The price tag for Heartland was too high to not have all the bugs worked out. I attended in June 2016.

I cannot thank this facility and all of their staff enough

The staff members I interacted with who went above and beyond we're the manager Mary and counselors or therapists I don't know your exact job titles Rhonda and Megan. These three in particular were professional kind and empathetic. This was a very humbling experience for my entire family.

I honestly don't believe that any of the positive reviews were made by real clients. The Director of Sunspire of the Heartland's (Tom Delgatto) claim to fame is a previous job is increasing admissions and increasing rates. Look at his biography.

I feel compelled to write a very heartfelt note of Thanks to the Heartland Sunspire facility.

Literally it isnt just the patient they care for it's the entire family

I cannot express the gratitude I feel .. these people gave our child back to us

Writing this brings tears to my eyes it's such an emotional situation

You will not see your therapist for anything more than 30 minutes/week (if that), so don't raise your expectations. And if you're 'dual diagnosis', don't come at all, as that is a subject that is dealt with through medication; even though the weekly schedule does make time for dual diagnosis discussions, generic coping skills are the only thing mentioned. 'Art Therapy', 'Music Therapy' and 'Team Building' modules are led by the techs, who are provided with no training or lesson plans, they're really 'keep the inmates busy' hours and consist of slapping children's paint on posters, or pulling up YouTube videos and guessing who selected them.

It took a long road to get us to a great program

Hi I went to Sunspire health I was defiantly not on a wining streak my life was unraveling in front of me , I knew when I got to Sunspire I was at a place that could help me I was greeted by a very friendly staff very quiet environment , the work began quickly with group meetings and counseling sessions after being there about a week and my mind thinking more clearly I had a lot to do I had to decide on how to stay safe after leaving Sunspire , being in the groups my peers and the counseling sessions I was able to come up with a plan, I'm very grateful that I was able to go to Sunspire health they not only helped me turn my life around they helped save my life .

Also regarding the housing, if you are a woman, there is no chance of sleep in your bedrooms. You will hear every paper rustling, every phone call, every conversation between techs at their station right outside your bedroom door. If you are an insomniac however, this is the place for you. And if you love $20 reversible comforters, hideously stained sheets and threadbare towels , this is the place for you.

As far as the housing goes, if you absolutely love an elementary school lunch menu, this is (again) the place for you. Everything is frozen, never fresh, and consists of over cooked veggies, 3 day old leftovers, and a nutritionist who works for the food vendor - leading to rotting rolls and fruit, and the cheapest possible food.

This has been a very humbling journey I know that none of you are seeking Thanks but sometimes it's just good to hear how appreciated you are

I'm very embarrassed over this situation

I recently read some not so positive reviews I felt I needed to speak up ... all I can say is that this facility is beautiful comfortable and the staff is very well trained.

Thank you all again

Believe nothing stated on the website, promised by the call center, or even in Heartland's client welcome packet (which is out of date and full of typos and grammatical errors. There is no functional pool, there are no horses, and it does not offer a 60 or 90 day program. But fear not, Tom makes sure to let everyone know that 'he's working on it' and 'these are details that you shouldn't worry about'. Well, after the facility being open for 18 months, there's really no more excuses.

I'm so grateful that our insurance allowed this program to handle our care

I 'graduated' from the program two days ago, and I have little but harsh criticism. Tom did his job though, he got his $30,000 from my insurance, and I was even congratulated for my insurance being willing to pay for an entire inpatient stay, which means Sunspire got their full payment for my entire stay without dropping to a PHP level of payment.

Tom, I hope you read this and realize that 'we're working on it' doesn't fly any more. Sunspire of the Heartland exists purely for profit. I would strongly recommend inquiring into Hazelden (multiple locations) or The Abbey in Bettendorf, Iowa for truly quality treatment.

This facility and more importantly the staff at this place are amazing.

So, for future clients, think. Do you want to be completely un-accountable for your actions? Do you want to give yourself tattoos with a guitar string, do you want to make alcohol in your room, do you want to snort your meds? If so, this is the place for you. The only consequence you'll receive is loss of your once-per-week phone call. As long as your insurance pays (or your family), you can do anything - suggestion - demand to see the Clinical Director and threaten to leave - you'll get your phone for unlimited calls.

You people were able to turn our family crisis around Thank You All!!!

For those who want to play by the rules, the groups are run by 2 therapists, one of whom has no experience with alcoholics or addicts - she is a family therapist who most recently worked with with sex offenders. The other is so overloaded, she has little time for one-on-ones, unless you're having a behavioral crisis (see above). Sunspire of the Heartland advertises a 'proven approach', and by that they apparently mean copyrighted materials from other facilities (Hazelden, you'll be getting an email), and handouts from questionable websites which will never be read or discussed.

Sunspire Health helped me out alot to get where i am today in my recovery. Nice and secluded farm house with lake. Nice work out facility that you can go to 2 times a day. Therapist are great and listen to you and help out. group meetings and individual counseling are provided. Food and shelter is great. such a wonderful staff all around. recommend this to anyone that needs help

It took a long time for us as parents to realize this was our only option

I recommend this program to anyone they can save your life

When you have turn to a facility such as this one obviously your family is a state of crisis
